find a passion, that lights up her eyes
She wants work that dirties her hands, and cleanses her soul
get soil under her nails, and sunlight on her hair
She needs to do something with meaning, with tangible results at the end of the day
Have something to show, for the hours, spent away from her children and horses.
She wants to know that there is more to life than the pettiness of coworkers, impatience of customers, and having to be a yes man to people that try to break her down.
Her heart yearns to work alongside good hearted women
and men, who care about what the end result will be
who care more about the land and their livelihoods
than the brand of pants on their asses and
shoes on their feet
She wants to enjoy the company of people that
know more about music than the newest hits
She wants to feel something
besides boredom, annoyance, and frustration
To be treated like an adult, like an equal, rather than a whipping post
She needs to feel a fire, deep in her heart
Find a road, get her boots dusty
Find a saddle, get her jeans dirty
Find a fence, get her hands scuffed up
Be reminded that she is more
than just a number, not just a cog in the wheel
Not just a shallow, warm body, holding down a desk chair
How she is going to find it, she isn’t sure; but in her heart she
knows where she wants to be
What can she do but wait?
Follow her heart, listen to it guide her where she needs to go
and someday, down the road, all her hopes and dreams will fall into place
and she will find herself as happy as she has ever been. Because she is more than just someone or something. She is someone special.
May you find peace on your journey to where you want to be.
